Ellmau has, without doubt, one of the prettiest settings in our programme - nestling between the Kitzbüheler Alps and the majestic Wilder Kaiser mountains. The relaxed village centre has a range of shops and is dotted with cosy bars and cafés. In the local area, the Astberg skiing has some good runs and gives great views of the Kitzbühel valley. For the more adventurous the Hartkaiser links you into the fantastic Ski Welt circuit linking 8 resorts with over 250kms of piste. You'll find a great atmosphere both in the rustic cabins and covered bars on the mountain and down in the lively village bars. Ellmau really is a great choice of resort for everyone!

Family choice
Ellmau is an ideal family resort with nursery slopes in the centre of the village, a range of gentle slopes, a short airport transfer time and excellent child-care facilities.
Resort Whizz Kids Club
Based in a dedicated club room in the Club Hotel Alpenof, the Whizz Kids Club is available, on a drop-off and pick-up basis, to Crystal customers staying in any of our accommodations in Ellmau. Children aged 3-11 incl. will have great fun all week, indoors and out, with our Whizz Kids leaders. You can chose from half or full day care, with optional lunch. We also offer an 'Ellmau Whizz Kids Special' for children in ski school (ski school is 2hrs x am & 2hrs x pm). This includes:
· Drop off at ski school
· Pick up from ski school and supervised care until 5.00pm
Lunch and lunchtime supervision can only be booked locally.
In addition, children staying in the Club Hotel Alpenhof can join the Pyjama Club. Available to children aged 3-11 years from 7.30pm-9.30pm, 5 evenings per week - this is FREE if you book Whizz Kids/Whizz Kids Special (otherwise bookable locally).

The slopes
Beginners
Ellmau has great nursery slopes in the village centre. The caring instructors will teach you well so that you will quickly progress on to the many gentle runs in the area.
Intermediates
Ellmau is one of the 8 resorts linked up on the Ski Welt Circuit with 250kms of piste and 93 lifts to choose from. Access to this area is via the Hartkaiser mountain railway from which the entire system fans out and the views are stupendous.
Advanced
Experts will find plenty to choose from both on and off-piste, including the Silleralm descent and the Eiberg slalom run, both on Söll's Hohe Salve mountain.
Snowboarding
There is an abundance of well groomed pistes, 150 miles to be exact. For the carvers amongst you there are some good runs under the funicular to check out. Also Ellmau has some of the best beginners terrain in the area. Don't miss a day or two at the fantastic Westendorf fun park - incl. on the Ski Welt area pass.
